Why 6mm aluminium?
We use 6mm 5052-grade aluminium to provide substantial underbody protection while keeping unnecessary weight down.
At approximately 10kg, it gives you a heavy-duty protective plate without the additional weight associated with comparable steel construction.
What does this plate protect?
It's designed to help protect the automatic transmission and surrounding area from rocks, debris and impacts from underneath the vehicle.
For more complete underbody coverage, it can be paired with our Intercooler + Sump Bash Plate Kit.
Do I need to remove it when servicing the vehicle?
Not for routine access to the relevant oil and transmission fluid service points.
The plate incorporates purpose-designed maintenance cut-outs, allowing servicing access without needing to remove the entire bash plate.
Will water and mud get trapped above it?
The plate incorporates drainage cut-outs to help water and debris escape rather than creating an enclosed surface underneath the vehicle.
As with any underbody protection, it's still good practice to inspect and clean underneath the vehicle after particularly muddy off-road trips.
Is it made in Australia?
Yes. The transmission bash plate is designed and manufactured in Brisbane specifically for the Mitsubishi Pajero.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. It's designed for straightforward DIY installation and comes with the required mounting hardware.
This transmission bash plate is covered by a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
