This bundle combines our 4mm aluminium Backbone Mounting System with 4 × 1120mm aluminium cross bars, giving you a complete, lightweight foundation for rooftop tents, awnings, recovery boards and other touring gear.

Every kilogram on your roof matters. The backbone weighs just 4.1kg, while all four cross bars weigh 4.8kg, bringing the entire setup to only 8.9kg.

Both are manufactured from heavy-duty 4mm aluminium, keeping weight, overall height and wind noise down while giving you a strong, practical setup for touring.

Suits: Mitsubishi Pajero NS, NT, NW & NX LWB (2006–2021).

How much does the complete roof system weigh?

Just 8.9kg total. The aluminium backbone weighs 4.1kg and the four aluminium cross bars weigh 4.8kg combined.

This helps leave more of your vehicle's available roof load for the gear you actually want to carry.

Why use aluminium instead of steel?

Aluminium provides excellent strength while keeping weight significantly lower and eliminating the risk of rust.

We've used 4mm aluminium throughout the backbone and cross bars to create a strong setup without unnecessarily adding weight to your roof.

Do I need to drill my Pajero?

If your Pajero has factory roof rails, no drilling is required. The backbone uses the existing factory mounting points.

Models without factory roof rails require an alternative installation method which involves drilling. We have a complete step-by-step installation guide available on our YouTube channel.

Can I mount a rooftop tent?

Yes. The 4-bar setup provides a strong platform for compatible rooftop tents.

The approximate distance between the front and rear cross bars is 1830mm, so ensure your rooftop tent mounting rails are compatible with this spacing.

Can I mount the cross bars underneath the backbone?

Yes. The cross bars can be mounted above or below the backbone brackets, giving you more flexibility depending on your setup.

What Pajeros does this suit?

The backbone directly suits Mitsubishi Pajero NM, NP, NS, NT, NW & NX LWB models (2000–2021).

Models with factory roof rails use the factory mounting points. Models without factory roof rails require an alternative installation method which involves drilling.

Does everything required for installation come with the bundle?

The backbone includes the roof mounts and stainless steel mounting hardware required for the backbone and cross bar setup.

Accessories such as rooftop tents, awnings and recovery boards pictured are not included.

We kindly ask customers to allow up to 30 days beyond the advertised ETA for unforeseen delays before requesting a cancellation.

If you choose to cancel your pre-order before this 30-day period has elapsed, our standard 15% cancellation and administration fee will apply.

If your pre-order has not arrived more than 30 days after the original advertised ETA, you may request to cancel your order for a full refund with no cancellation fee.

Where an order contains both in-stock and pre-order items, the order may be held until all items are available and shipped together unless otherwise stated or agreed. If you require available items sooner, please contact us prior to placing your order, as additional shipping charges may apply for split shipments.
