Our BGT4X4 Backbone Roof Rack System is built for LWB Pajero owners who need real load-carrying strength without adding bulk or noise. It’s a lightweight, low-profile setup that uses the Pajero’s factory mounting points, giving you a solid foundation for awnings, rooftop tents, recovery gear and touring setups.

This is a complete kit including our powder-coated steel backbone and the 220 x 125cm aluminium platform.

Complete kit, ready to fit

  • Includes the steel backbone system, aluminium platform rack, all stainless hardware and links to our step-by-step install videos.

Strong, lightweight and built to work

  • Platform weighs just 25kg, and the backbone 10kg
  • This heavy-duty roof rack is engineered to handle 200-300kg (well beyond what you'll ever legally load)
  • With the Pajero's 100kg roof limit (including the 35kg rack), you have 65kg of usable capacity, but the peace of mind that comes from a rack built to handle 3-4x that weight.

Little to no wind noise, slim profile

  • Aerodynamic platform design sits close to the roof for a clean look and minimal drag.

Easy mounting for accessories

  • Integrated rails make it simple to add awnings, lights, shovels and touring accessories. See mounting accessories on the website.

No drilling required for Gen 4 models with factory roof rails

  • Bolts into factory points on 2006–2021 Pajeros with roof rails. Those without will require drilling.
  • Gen 3 NM/NP with roof rails may require drilling. We’re happy to help confirm fitment.

Installation Responsibility

  • Professional installation is always recommended. Many of our products require technical knowledge and tools for correct fitting.
  • BGT4X4 is not responsible for any damage caused to your vehicle, property, or person due to incorrect installation, modification, or use of any product sold.
  • Any damage or fault arising from improper installation may void warranty coverage.

Warranty Coverage

  • Warranties are set by the manufacturers or suppliers of each product. Details are included in the product listing where available.
  • BGT4X4 may offer longer warranty on select items sold under our own brand — this will be clearly outlined on the product page.
  • Products must be used as intended and kept in original condition to qualify for warranty claims.

Warranty Exclusions

  • Incorrect or unauthorised installation
  • Off-road misuse beyond product intent
  • Wear and tear, cosmetic marks or damage
  • Labour, freight, or removal/reinstallation costs

Product Use & Compliance

  • Some of our products are intended for off-road use only. It is the customer’s responsibility to check if these products are suitable and legal for use on public roads in their region.
  • We take compliance seriously and aim to only stock products that meet relevant safety expectations.
  • Ultimately, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any modifications are legal and roadworthy under Australian law or your local regulations.

  • 30-day change of mind returns
  • Store credit: no fees
  • Refund to original payment: 15% processing/restocking fee
  • Suppler-shipped products: 15% restocking fee for change of mind
  • Cancellations may not always be possible once orders are processed or supplier items committed - change of mind policy applies
  • Faulty or incorrect items are covered under ACL

In-stock warehouse items

Items stocked at our Brisbane warehouse usually dispatch within 1–3 business days.

Supplier-direct items

Some products are shipped directly from our trusted brand partners. These will dispatch from the supplier, and estimated lead times are shown on the product page where applicable.

Shipping rates

  • Smaller items are shipped via flat-rate satchels where possible
  • Larger or bulky items are quoted based on size and weight
  • Supplier-direct items are charged at the supplier’s freight rate

Now that we operate from a commercial warehouse, we’re able to offer more competitive bulky freight rates.

Pickup is available on in-stock items by appointment - product pages will indicate if pickup is available.
