I did not know the original plastic sleeves broke

I did not know the original plastic sleeves broke untill i saw the metal one advertised so i bought it because i didnt want to get stranded somewhere

great upgrade to gearshift

Looks like a good upgrade unfortunately i have not fitted it yet as the original is screwed into the handle and am waiting on a new handle to fit this item the original plastic one has broken and the previuos owner rather than get a new one has screwed it into the handle which to me is dumb for the cost of this one once the new handle arrives i am sure i wont have to replace it again

Is thete a risk of breaking the lower part of the shifter (because the upper one is now unbreakable) and get to a much more complicated and expensive fix?

Hi Shlomo, there is no weight difference between the plastic and aluminium sleeve so it is highly unlikely for the lower part to break because of it.
