If you've noticed a clunk or knock coming from the rear of your Pajero (often when taking off, changing gears or coming to a stop) you're not alone. It's a common issue on Gen 3 and Gen 4 Pajeros and is often caused by the factory driveshaft nut gradually working loose over time due to its design.
Our Driveshaft Anti-Knock Kit replaces the factory nuts, washers and split pins with an improved hardware kit designed to eliminate unwanted movement and help resolve the annoying driveline clunk. The nuts itself are custom made with a taller design to cover more thread, so once it is on, it will not come loose again.
Simple to install and built to last, it's an easy upgrade that can make a big difference to your driving experience.

Awesome kit, does exactly what it says it'll do. Helpful video too!
Thank you for your great review! We're glad the kit works well for you and that you found the video helpful.
The nuts are indeed a bit bigger than the originals, not in diameter, but in height.
The split pins are bigger than the OEM ones and have a very nice quality.
The washers dissapointed a bit, as they don't fit easily. The OEM kit fits perfectly. With this kit I had to hammer the washers in order to fit them, which is not nice. So the design can be improved. I saw the nuts from this kit have the grooves, but ar somehow different from the original parts, so the washers don't fit easily.
Hi Raul thanks for the review. The washers you describe are how they should be. If you have a look at the video guide on how to install them you will notice we explain why this is the case :) They need to sit tight onto the nuts to avoid any play. We wish you many safe and anti-knocking kilometres ahead. Thank you.
My clunk was occurring when torque was released from the drivetrain, ie lifting my foot off the accelerator. My concern was the diff. I had play in the driveshaft and both rear axles, (could rotate them by hand), so was concerned this was an expensive diff issue. I rolled the dice with these to see if I could rule out the more expensive diff issue. They have worked a treat! Pajero NT (30th anniversary) 2011 model. Thanks bgt4x4!
Most welcome mate enjoy clunk free kilometres!
Hi, I’m experiencing a similar knocking sound in my Pajero NW from the rear-axle area. It occurs when moving forward and backward, during acceleration and deceleration, and even when stationary when shifting from neutral into reverse or drive (as the load engages on the rear axle).
My mechanic suspects it may be the rear diff bushes, but it could also be the drive-shaft hub nuts, so your Anti-Knock solution might be a more affordable fix. In your video you mention tightening the Anti-Knock hub nuts with a rattle gun rather than a torque wrench.
Could you please clarify:
- Can the Anti-Knock hub nuts be removed in the future for maintenance?
- If they are installed using a rattle gun, do they need to be replaced each time they are removed, or can they be reused?
Thank you.
Hey Stephen, sounds to me like the hub nuts. Yes correct make them tight with a rattle gun. Yes can be removed in the future. The nut itself has more thread than the original so will stay on as apposed to the origanl nut that comes loose over time.
Hey mate,
Wondering if these will fit the previous generation of pajero, specifically the 2002 NM. I know the body and driveline is mostly the same but note sure
Hey Reubs, from what I can see it is not the same but Google is not always right. Happy for you to grab a set and if it is not the same, return it for a refund cheers
Hi,
When will the new stock arrive?
Hi mate- like we mentioned in the description, next batch is due in June. Cheers
Hi there
Just curious with tightening these hub nuts it suggests no torque wrench. I have had this issue(knocking) etc the last few years and from what I could gather off the Pajero forum that you need to apply 220ish NM to properly tighten these?
Cheers
Ken
The nuts in this kit should be put on by a powertool for a more permanent fix. By using a torque wrench, you will have to retighten them atleast once every 12 months.
